Responsibilities:
Highly motivated, creative individual with a preferred emphasis of Food Safety. This is a 12-month, non-tenure track, full benefit eligible faculty position with responsibilities of approximately 80% research and 20% extension. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a high impact, nationally recognized research/extension program to address the critical or emergent issues in the field of food safety and nutrition, conduct innovative food safety research and outreach food nutrition activities, write grant proposals for extramural funding to support research and extension programs, publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals, collaborate with faculty within the University and other institutions, and contribute to relevant professional societies. The incumbent may also be required to teach courses relevant to their expertise, supervise graduate students, provide department, college and university service or an other duty as assigned.

Qualifications:
Individual is sought with a PhD. in food science, food safety, and food nutrition, or closely related field. Applicants must have demonstrated ability to conduct quality research or extension activities, publish articles in impactful peer-reviewed journals, and secure extramural funding through grant proposal. Experience of postdoctoral research and teaching is preferred. Background with food chemistry, safety, and technology is highly desirable. Interpersonal, effective oral and written communication skills, and willingness and ability to work in a team-oriented environment with a diverse group of faculty and students are essential.

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
