Cornell University is hiring a Senior Extension Associate (Director of Institute for Food Safety), Full Time, non-tenure track, academic term position with the Institute of Food Safety within the Department of Food Science. It is posting WDR-00021047.
As the Director, the incumbent will lead a dynamic team to continue to build and strengthen the IFS@CU extension, research and outreach program. He/she will be responsible for setting priorities for IFS@CU activities with input from an internal Steering Committee of Cornell University faculty and an Advisory Council composed of internal and external stakeholders from academia, industry, and local, state, and federal government agencies. The candidate will establish the economic sustainability of the IFS@CU by leveraging current funding to generate an internal source of revenue through fee-based courses, services, and trainings while identifying new and diversified funding sources from both the private and public sectors, including grants and gifts. He/she will lead the development, delivery and marketing of new food safety extension, education, and outreach programming in collaboration with internal and external constituents, including staff and faculty in IFS@CU, programs from the Food Science Department and Cornell Cooperative Extension, and from other departments at Cornell University. This position reports to the IFS Managing Director, Professor Olga Padilla-Zakour, Department of Food Science.
